Jozef Vodny and family

At the end of 1963 my mother, Alica Reitmanova, nee Wassermanova was allowed to visit her brother Jozef, or DodoVodny in Israel. The picture shows him, his daughter, my cousin Juditka Bodna, and his wife Dita Vodnyova.

Dita is an excellent woman. She comes from Kalna, district Levice. They got married in 1938 or earlier and went to Israel with the first immigrants. Jozef died in 1982. Dita is still alive.

Juditka speaks fluent Slovak. Her husband is from Poland. They both speak Hebrew and English. When the husband and children were not present, we spoke Slovak without any problems.
