Postcard from Utekac

This is a postcard from Utekac, which was published by my father, Julius Engel. The photos of Utekac were taken by the photographer Bruner from Lucenec. The photos were probably taken in the 1930s. The postcard shows the mixed-goods store that my parents had rented from the town and where they worked.

My father had three years of council school and then was a merchant by trade. Business can't take a break, and if my father would have taken a break from the store for a week, he'd have lost customers. The store had to be open. That was the basic idea of our whole existence.
