The Ronas and Molnars on New Year's Eve 1938

A New Year's Eve picture from 1938/39, taken in Budapest. My mother, Iren Molnar is the third from right on the top. In the second row from the top the 4th from left is Margit Rona [nee Molnar], next to her the man with the bow tie is Janos Rona. The man with the mustache, who is between the woman sitting in the center with Indian feathers and the one with a military cap, is Jancsi [affectionate for Janos] Reich. His wife, Kati is the third from left in the sitting row; she is a little bit covered. I don't know the others. From the door and wallpaper I can tell that they must have had the party at some restaurant and not at home. Janos Rona was the associate of my father and my grandfather. He fled from the work service, he was hiding, and he died during an assault in 1945, a bomb killed him. His wife Margit was in hiding with us, and she died in 1968. Jancsi Reich was my father's friend. They immigrated in 1948, and he sent me a visa from Australia. When I immigrated I lived with them for one or two weeks. His family was like my parents to me. He died five or six years ago. He made candy in Australia too.
