These are 2 friends of mine. The one on the left is Sarica Segall, we were classmates at the Superior School of Commerce. The one on the right is Doina Blumenfeld, she was 1 year older than us, in a higher school grade, but she was a friend of Sarica's and they even lived very close to each other. Sarica lived near the train station, and Doina lived nearby.
I stayed in touch with Sarica, I visited her in Bucharest, but she has passed away. She graduated the Commercial Academy, she had a steady job. She was married to a lawyer, her name was Frances after she married. They wrote on the back of the photograph: "To Old Nick - that's how they nicknamed me -, Sarica," and Doina writes below: "It is very true and level, Maly turned into a devil. Doina. 22nd September 1937." Pleasantries.
