Tivadar Foldes and Julia Foldesne Altman

This is a picture of my father, Tivadar Foldes, in some holiday resort in 1937. I think that the woman next to him is my mother. I think that the photo was probably taken in Muraszombat (Murska Sobota). It was already on Austrian territory at the time. My parents liked visiting the holiday resorts of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. It was fashionable then to go to Marienbad or Karlsbad. I think they went quite often, every year. They stayed for ten days, two weeks. They could leave us with our nursemaid Ilonka. They never went on holiday with us children, together we only went visiting the relatives, mostly those in Gyongyos and then we only stayed 2-3 days.
